I hope you people had a great time bonding together, knowing more new friends I guess!

On behalf of the main comm, thanks helpers, graduates and of course the campers!

This camp had been a blast thanks to all the alumnis who came back to help and also helpers sacrificing their meal times to make props for the various games.

Hey everybody!

Common Test will commence next week. You guys should be mugging hard for every modules.

Stop thinking of trainings alright! We will be able to resume training as soon as common test are over.

Hello Wello!

I'm back. How's the basic digging drills for all freshies?

Do watch this video and try to learn from their footsteps.

Like how they actually bend their legs and lock their arms to receive the ball.

Controlling your directions and amount of strength you use is important too.

Swinging your arms and using all your arms' strength on the volleyball is wrong.

You should bend your legs and use the strength to push the ball forward.

How do you all find Tuesday's training? Awesome? Boring? Share your thoughts on our chatbox!

Personally I feel that it's awesome! Having to see everyone enjoying themselves with the company of volleyball. Although it's tiring, however it's worthwhile having to see all of you being enthu to come for trainings! Thanks! For ytd's training I hope the bonding session actually helps all of you to find your clique of friends among volleyball. This can help alot when playing volleyball too.

When playing match, you have to be able to communicate well with your team mates. Imagine the ball coming in between you and your team mates and the two of you don't communicate at all. Both of you will just run for the ball and bang into each other. Right? So communication is very important! Talk to each other more! But please do not only revolve around your clique of ppl okay! Try to know more friends so that trainings won't be that bored for all of you! Cheers! See ya all for tmr's combined trainings! 5.50pm at Grandstand!

Hello everyone!

As you all know the CCA Fiesta ended ytd! I hope you ppl enjoy those two days!

With 100s of clubs squeezing inside atrium trying to 'attract' Year 1s to join their CCA.

By using all sorts of methods like giving out flyer or some even by force! Haha.

Well, we have to thank our helpers for making the registration a success!

Having fun by 'psycho-ing' Year 1s to join volleyball club, being really friendly and not to forget that you, helpers are actually willing to sacrifice your time to help us out!

So after Fiesta, what's next? Hmmmmmm.

Training time! (:

Guess what? We've got everything lined up for Year 1s to enjoy.

So during our training, Year 1s got to learn the basic.

That's DIGGING!

Don't underestimate the word digging. It might look simple but no!

Having to control the direction of the ball, to control the strength that's been transferred to the ball and resist the temptation of swinging your hands! Hahaha!

After which they have the chance to get to know each other by trying to rmb everyone's name.

Everything ended after lights were off and that marks the end of training!

Thanks Year 1s for being so attentive during trainings and trying your best to participate in whatever we've planned!

This is a new rule for everyone in NPVB. W.E.F 2 August 2010

Training starts at 6pm. Be there before 6pm.

Anyone who is late without valid reason and reach before 6.30pm, you will have to run extra rounds.

Anyone who is late after 6.30 without valid reason, there will be no training for you and you are not allowed to touch any volleyball even if you are there to wait for your friend.

Those who are late with valid reason are allowed to join training. but we will need the proof of your reason. Example: " You end at 6, we will need to see your timetable before allowing you to join training"

Follow this new rule and we'll have alot of fun. (:

We do not want our training to be screwed up suddenly because of late comers.

Hey People! How's Training so far! :D

Can see that quite alot are improving fast.

Here's some issues regarding training

Discipline

When the trainer tell you guys to do warm up or running, do not dilly dally wait there for others to move then you move,

Think about it, the earlier you finish your warm up and running, the more time you have to interact with the ball.

And when we are training service, it means service. no digging of balls, even if your service is already very strong.

Punctuality

Training starts at 6pm. not 6.30pm or 7pm. So be there on time, unless you have valid reason :)

Lights out/ End of training

Instead of going to your bag straight away and go to the grandstand for debrief, help us search for missing volleyballs. :D Debrief will not start until all the volleyballs are found and are in the baskets. I know it's tiring after training but if you search for it, there's a higher chance that the missing balls can be found and so the debrief can start/end earlier and you can go home and rest early too!

Attitude

I received some complaints from trainers that some showed attitude when trainers tell them about their mistakes. These Trainers took their time out of their schedule so that training can be carried out smoothly. & They are there to help and guide you so Do listen to their advise. :D

Debrief

If you have ideas to make training more fun and more effective , let us know during debrief or after debrief. Do not be shy to voice out your ideas :D

preliminaries and semis for polympics are over. congrats to those teams who managed to proceed to finals! and to all runner ups, hope it had been a pleasant experience for you people, esp the year1s and first timers =)

All right, main point is about Polympics =) Tentatively, polympics dates for volleyball are out. It will be on the 23rd Nov to 25th Nov 2009.

So, to all participates and helpers out there., please take note! For all helpers, I will send you a message when the date is drawing near. Plus I will need to have a short meeting with you people sooon. Hee.

School is reopening!

Hey people!

School's reopening! Are you people excited? Lol. Not excited for school, but I mean for volleyball. Ha. Anyway, training resumes yea! Seniors, as usual yea. For the rest, Tuesdays and Thursday, 6-9pm @ outdoor volleyball court =)

One more news regarding POLYMPICS! For freshies, POLYMPICS is one event organised by the SSC. This year's polympics sports are Basketball, Futsal, Volleyball, Netball, Floorball & Track&Field.

Polympics will start on the 23rd November to 4th December 2009. As for volleyball, we've yet to get our confirmed dates. So stay tuned here! However, Registration Booth will be on from the 2nd November to 13th November 2009 @ student plaza =)

So find people and form groups/teams within your own division only, and sign up yea! =D

I know you guys are feeling something is missing on your tuesday and thursday!
but but but!
ITS BACK :D

Volleyball training will resume on 16th of june, tuesday.
and training will be as usual on tues and thurs.
but this time round, the training start at 5pm! (so that you guys will have more time to train and play (: )

To add on, we know some of you may have attachment, work, etc. We wont be taking attendance so dont worry. However, for those who are free, do come down. We are sure that you will have lot more fun, and be learning more things.

For seniors, monday we will be having training too,
start at 5pm too! you guys should know :D

Tired of the previous blogskin? tada~ updated a new one for the new year/semester :)

Hey people! Regarding the chalet, there are some changes. Since felice is having her camp now, i will inform you all on her behalf.

Because many of you did not response to her email, we thought of changing this chalet into a smaller one. Committee and some trainers will be sharing the chalet where the rest of you will be invited on the bbq night. And you may stay overnight after the bbq if you think that it is inconvenient to travel back at late hours. And you are required to give a small sum of money for the bbq food while part of it will be subsidies.

Do feedback on the idea asap! as we will be booking the chalet real soon. Especially the committee members!!

Hello all!

Just to prepare you guys of what's going to happen for the end of this month and in dec, we'll be having our Annual General Meeting (AGM 08/09) on the 28th Nov 08 at 6pm.

Let me briefly explain what's AGM is all about to some of you who don't know. It's a meeting whereby the whole club comes together for this "passing down" of posts ceremony. I believe some of you had went for the "bonding session" or rather the interview for the new comm posts. And the results would be reveal on the day itself by our NPVB advisor, Miss Faith Hong.

For those who went for the interview, I'll contact you guys again and it's a COMPULSORY for those who came for the interview to attend the meeting. And be expected that the IVP team to come down. Club members are all welcome!

On AGM that day, the new IVP captains and vice captains will be annouce as well and the MAIN12 IVP for both MENS and WOMENS too. So it's like a ceremony for all the posts to be passed down for the year 2009/2010.

Although the posts would be anounce, duties will still be completed by the senior comm till the new semester begins, the new comm and new IVP captains will then be able to take their positions. However, knowing that you might be in the comm/captains, we hope you'll be able to cooperate with all of us well and bring NPVB to another higher level. :)

As for dec, we'll be having our training camp in the holidays after common tests. I'll be passing out the indemnity forms during tmr's debrief after training. For those who are interested to join the training camp, pls get the form from me! As there are limited vacancies, further notices would be given. :D

Alright. It is pretty rare for me to blog here. HA.

Anyway, I just want to say that for those people who turned up today. I am really impressed by your answers. I mean all of you people =) Plus, I am really glad that you people actually came for the interview alone. I applaude for all of your courage =)

Seriously, you people TOTALLY proved me wrong. It is a good sign actually.

For those people who will be attending the interviews tmr, BE PREPARED. LOL! Kidding. Don't be too nervous. I know it might be difficult. But just take it as a chit-chat session for us to know more about yourself and your thinking. Chillax! =D

BONDING SESSION;
an opportunity to join the comm family!

hello all.

guess most of you should know about the "bonding session" i told you about. thru the bonding session, we'll select a few potential candidates to join our new comm. however, the results won't be release on the interview day itself. we'll let you guys know who'll be in after the interview is over. so stay tune.

oh yea, and i've msged those who're interested to come down. don't forget your day and time okay! just come puncturely! otherwise you'll leave a bad impression for us. LOL! nah, just kidding.

i need attention from all those people participating/who wish to participate in the polympics.I wish to clearly state the following rules which i guess some people misinterpret it!

1)According to STUDENT SPORT COUNCIL,the participants will form teams of players within their schools/faculties to participate in the the games in polympics.

2)Participants can form teams with as many IVP players as you want BUTat all times, there must be a minimum of ONE female and a maximum of IVP player on court at ALL TIMES.

Good new people!

We have book a booth at NP Orchard Road near Co-op at block 5 for students to register their team.The booth will be open from monday(20th oct) to friday (25th oct) 11 am to 6pm. So now you dont have to worry who to go to register!=D
